FOR HOUSEPLANTS · 0-0-14 KELP

Your houseplants aren't thirsty. They're starving.

Potting mix runs out of minerals in about 8 weeks. Then you keep watering a depleted root zone and wonder why the new leaves come in small. Cold-pressed kelp puts what the bag forgot back in the pot — without a salt burn.

THE PROBLEM

Why your potting mix runs out

Bagged mix is a starter — not a meal plan

The fertilizer in fresh potting mix is calibrated for the first 6–8 weeks. After that, every watering leaches more nutrients out the drain hole than the plant has time to absorb.

Indoor plant food is just NPK salt

Most blue-water houseplant fertilizers are urea, ammonium phosphate, and potassium chloride. They push leaves on cue — and burn roots if you're 10% heavy. No micronutrients, no biology, no margin.

Trace minerals run out first

Magnesium, manganese, boron, zinc, molybdenum — these run out long before nitrogen does. You see it as yellow stripes between green veins, pale new growth, and stalled stems.

WHAT'S IN THE BAG

Cold-pressed kelp, decoded

Cytokinins — cell division

Naturally occurring plant hormones that tell the plant to push new growth points. More leaves, fuller canopy, branching where there was none.

Auxins — root elongation

The hormone that drives lateral root growth. Bigger root system = more uptake = bigger plant above the soil line. Why kelp is the #1 input growers use after repotting.

14% plant-available potassium

Potassium is the mineral that builds thick stems, hard cell walls, and disease resistance. The 0-0-14 ratio means you can use it alongside any nitrogen source without overfeeding.

60+ ocean trace minerals

Iodine, boron, manganese, molybdenum, copper, zinc, magnesium — the full micronutrient stack potting soil can't replicate. Synthetic indoor plant food doesn't even try.

This is an excellent product, as good if not better than any seaweed extract I have used. I have noticed all of my plants with increased growth and vigor.

VS. THE INDOOR PLANT FOOD AISLE

Why one bag replaces three.

Most houseplant nutrition is either a salt-based fertilizer (push growth, risk burn) or a single-ingredient organic (slow, incomplete). Kelp It Real is the input growers reach for when they want all the upside of organic with none of the slow-release lag.

HOW TO FEED

Houseplant feeding, dialed.

1

Mix 1 tsp per gallon of water

Cold water is fine — Kelp It Real dissolves cleanly. No bucket brewing, no air pump, no waiting.

2

Water as you normally would — weekly

Replace one of your regular waterings with kelp water. Pour at the base of the plant until you see drainage. That's it.

3

Foliar spray for fast results

Decant some into a spray bottle and mist the underside of leaves once a week. Stomatal uptake = visible color change in 5–7 days.

4

Drench every repot

First watering after repotting is the highest-leverage moment. Kelp's auxins kickstart lateral roots while transplant shock is still fresh.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Houseplant questions, answered.

Can I use this on every houseplant — monstera, fiddle leaf, pothos, snake plant, calathea?

Yes. Kelp It Real is a universal input. The dose (1 tsp/gal) is the same across foliage plants, ferns, succulents, and herbs. Cacti and succulents do best with a slightly lighter dose (½ tsp/gal) given less frequently.

Will it smell? My plants live in my apartment.

No. Unlike fish hydrolysate or compost teas, cold-pressed kelp extract is essentially odorless once dissolved. Apartment-safe.

Is this a complete fertilizer or do I still need something else?

Kelp It Real is the potassium + micronutrient + hormone layer. For plants that need a heavy push of nitrogen (fast-growing tropicals, edible herbs), pair it with Growganica Veg. For most established houseplants, kelp alone is enough.

Can I overdose and burn my plants?

Practically no. Kelp It Real has a 0-0-14 NPK with no synthetic salts — even at 2–3× the recommended dose, root burn is highly unlikely. This is one of its biggest advantages over blue-water indoor plant food.

How long does one bag last?

The 1 lb bag makes 200+ gallons of feed at the standard dose. For most apartment plant collections (10–30 plants) that's a year or more of weekly feedings.

What's the guarantee?

30-day Growganica Guarantee. If your plants don't visibly respond — better color, new growth, healthier roots — email us and we'll refund you. We'd rather lose the sale than lose a grower.
